History of the Mason Company
The Mason Company was founded in 1892 by Henry Mason in Leesburg, Ohio, a picturesque town located about an hour’s drive from Cincinnati, Columbus or Dayton. The Company originally manufactured and sold products for a variety of applications, but since the late 1920’s has focused exclusively on animal enclosures.
Since that time, Mason has earned the reputation for providing the finest animal enclosures on the market. We use only the highest grade raw materials (see our product specifications section) and, unlike some of our competitors, we manufacture everything here in the U.S. rather than overseas.
The Mason Company has sold and installed more kennel systems than anyone else in the world. No matter what your unique needs, chances are the Mason Company has built it before. We have designed and manufactured systems for the veterinary, boarding and shelter markets, as well as animal control, breading, research, zoos, exotic animals – any application where animals need to be enclosed securely, humanely and under demanding conditions. In fact, our products are so well made and durable that they have been deployed alongside our armed forces in such severe, challenging places as Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan. You won’t find a better testimonial to the quality of our product than its selection to serve with our armed forces overseas in combat conditions.
Mason is unique in its ability to manufacture any size enclosure – and at Mason, custom never costs extra. As our customers have grown and evolved, we have too, and have developed many new products over the years. Mason now offers the broadest product line of anyone in the industry. We sell stainless steel, galvanized and even chain link, and offer tempered glass for customers desiring an updated look. Any of these offerings can be used with a traditional floor drain kennel, or with our UltraBase above floor kennel system. We even offer a double-deck option for customers who find it easier to expand up than out. Besides kennel runs, Mason also has expanded its line of other products, such as stacked cages, isolation cages, kennel doors and cat condos.
We hope you have enjoyed this brief history of Mason’s first 117 years! Whether you're opening a brand-new facility, remodeling an existing site or simply looking to add some enclosures to enhance your services, Mason can fulfill your requirements. We look forward to hearing from you and learning about your needs.
